Anybody with even a passing interest in doing this sort of thing would have to find the background origins (or History) behind Isan Survivor to be compelling. I think it is unusual that the founder of such a project — Konchanat (Jack) Panasri — was actually born in that part of the country.

Check it out! You can go here to find the Program Fee and a description of just what it will cover.
Another possibility is uVolunteer, which offers placements in some different parts of the World. In the case of this organization, founder Nathaniel Manu apparently started it up in 2006 primarily because he was appalled by the high fees so-called volunteer organizations generally charge participants.

Go here to learn about uVolunteer‘s fees, and just what they cover — to me, the amounts seem comparable to those of Isan Survivor.
Other organizations with projects in Thailand include Global Volunteer Network.

They seem to have two ongoing Thailand-based projects, both of which involve caring for animals. Prices are cited in the “Read More” options that are offered for both projects, should you wish to look into either of them.
Another organization with a strong Thailand presence is Openmind Projects:
Coverage of their Thailand projects is presented here. Overviews of the fees are presented in several places at the website, but full details are here.
Perhaps Mundo Exchange may have something for you?

How about Original Volunteers?

Irresistible smiles, what? Go here for their Thailand Overview.
You can get a very good look at what it means to “Volunteer in Thailand with Grassroots Organizations” at Real Volunteer Thailand.

As the chap behind the website says:
Volunteering is something that I have wanted to do for some time and have made phone calls, sent e-mails and filled out applications, but nothing seemed to pan out. I’ve finally buckled down and done some serious research to make it happen and have some first-hand information to share with those who are looking to get involved in volunteering.
You may have noticed that one of the big trends at the moment is pay-to-volunteer programs and there certainly are many of these organizations, particularly for volunteer abroad programs. Volunteerism is turning into big business these days and there are many organizations that are doing amazing work and others that are well-intentioned and happen to be making quite a profit. No matter what path you choose in your volunteer career make sure that you do your homework so that you are able to make informed decisions that will help ensure you have a positive and fulfilling volunteer experience.
When I first began trying to find an organization I was totally overwhelmed with the amount of information available and the vast array of organizations to choose from that I actually gave up on a few occasions as it was just too difficult to sort through. I have friends who have had some rather unfortunate volunteer experiences and others who have worked with truly wonderful people and have made a real difference in the lives of others. Like most ventures, it isn’t always easy to make the best choice when there are so many decisions to be made, and learning from experience is often the norm rather than the exception.
I’m not exactly sure which term to use for this next organization: Volunteer Thailand? Volunteer in Thailand? Friends of Asia? Volunteer in Thailand with Friends for Asia? Maybe just click on the logo below and decide for yourself:
I suspect it’s Friends for Asia. The website has lots of sections to it, so look around.
An unusually-named Starfish Ventures seems to have had their beginnings in Thailand, and then branched out a little.

Due to the success of our continuing projects in Thailand, Starfish is delighted to announce that we are now offering placements in both India and Sri Lanka. For more details of exactly what is available and how you join one of our teams, please contact us today.
Rustic Volunteer and Travel — as its name suggests — combines volunteering and travel in different parts of the World in a more overt way.

Their Thailand page is here:
From the green rice field of North Thailand to the verdant limestone islands of the Andaman Sea , to the vibrating culture, volunteering in the Thailand program offers something amazing for you. A tropical nation in the heart of Southeast Asia, Thailand is an exotic land full of mountains, plains, beaches, and forests that appears almost like a kaleidoscope of different worlds mixed together. A participant with Rustic Volunteer Travel in Thailand is an excellent way to be a responsible tourist in Southeast Asia’s most visited country by contributing to the lives of the eager children and experiencing another side to Thai life by working closely with local people, to gain unique insight in to what everyday life in Thailand is really like away from all the beaches.
I’m unsure why Global Experience is so-named — they only seem to be invested in Thailand. Click the logo below to take a look:
Global Experience is a non governmental organization based in Thailand. Thai-Experience.org is our website for volunteering in Thailand.
Our network is constantly growing and reaching out to the neighboring countries. We support local organizations and projects because we believe strongly that this is the best way to enable them to help themselves in the future.
Coming from different cultural backgrounds, tolerance and curiosity for different frames of reference are our strength. We are not bound by any religion, ideology or political party as this would limit our work. We work in favor of people with less opportunities, mainly poor children, disabled people and village women.
WLS International seems to be spread throughout Asia.

Their Thailand page is here.
Our projects in Thailand are based in Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand. Chiang Mai is wonderful travel destination and a fantastic location to do your volunteering work and to get to know the real Thailand.
A directory of opportunities is at ServeYourWorld.

There are a huge numbers of organizations offering volunteering abroad opportunities in Thailand. Volunteering in Thailand is always an amazing experience.
Go here for their Volunteer Work: Thailand to see just what organizations they have compiled for that country.
GoAbroad.com has projects Worldwide, including over 30 in Thailand. Also notice: Families can volunteer in Thailand.

You will have to visit the website yourself to find out about what they have — there is far too much for me to summarize.
One good website to refer to for quite an array of Thailand projects from different organizations is this page at Transitions Abroad.

I won’t try to begin covering them — you can see what’s there for yourself.
If you want to dive into an even more bewildering array of projects, well over a hundred of them have been collected together at Volunteer Work Thailand:
Volunteer Work Thailand provides instant access to organizations actively seeking international volunteers. Click on any logo to visit an organizations website (will launch a new web browser) and explore the volunteer opportunities in more depth.
We have given the cost of volunteering for one month (4 weeks) where possible. If there are no program fees volunteers either receive complimentary accommodation and/or food or are required to cover the cost of their stay (must pay for their own accommodation, food, etc). The areas in which volunteers can work are defined as activities.
The list of volunteer organizations on the Volunteer Thailand web page is by no means complete and we will be adding more volunteer opportunities on an ongoing basis.

As they say in that final statement just above, there are even other organizations out there with volunteer projects in Thailand. But I’m calling it a day here!
