Lao Air flight from Udon Thani to Luang Prabang and back, still working?
Have tryed to book this flight on Lao Air website, but wont let me This flight is still going and what days and cost? Thanks.
Given the number of passengers to Luang Prabang Udon are limited and can not cover General operating on this route. It was canceled and he could return to work again in the future.
According to the Udon Thani International Airport flight schedule that is provided on the website of The Irish Clock, there is a flight via Lao Air three days a week.
Would this one destination not make up the entirety of the airport’s current “international” roster of flights?

Lao Airlines launches Luang Prabang-Udon Thani route
Bangkok – Lao Airlines on Monday announced the opening of a new route between Luang Prabang, Laos’s once royal capital, and Udon Thani, north-east Thailand, radio reports said. The new route will operate twice a week, every Friday and Sunday, costing 80 dollars one way and 150 dollars round trip, said Radio Laos in a broadcast monitored in Bangkok.
Udon Thani, 450 kilometres north-east of Bangkok, is the closest Thai airport to Vientiane, the Lao capital. It is a major hub for Laos and foreigners living in Laos to catch flights on to Bangkok and abroad.
Luang Prabang is the former capital of Laos’ royal family and a major tourist destination.
The announcement of the new route for Lao Airlines, the national carrier, coincided with a day-visit by Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to Vientiane.
Thailand is Laos’ southern neighbour. The two countries share a similar language and culture but different political systems. Laos has been under communist rule since December 1975, while Thailand is a democracy under a constitutional monarchy.
The 600-year-old Lao monarchy was ended shortly after the land-locked nation opted for communist rule.

Now the potentially bad news!

Lao Airlines has suspended direct flights between Udon Thani and Luang Prabang. They start twice weekly flights between Luang Prabang and Udon Thani since October 31st 2008 but now lao airlines is closed this flight and not infrom when they will operate this flights again.
That matches a March 23, 2010, post on the Gecko Villa Thailand Travel Blog:
Lao Airlines has suspended direct flights between Udon Thani and Luang Prabang (despite still showing these on its website!)
However, the drive from Udon Thani to Vientiane, the Lao capital over the Mekong river, is only an hour and a half or so, and regular flights depart from Vientiane to Luang Prabang.
In referring back to the flight schedule The Irish Clock hosts, one of the flight dates is Sunday. Well, here is a screen capture of both the Udon Thani International Airport‘s departures and arrivals for Sunday, January 9, 2011 (it is January 9 in Thailand as I do this edit on January 8 here in Canada):
Absolutely no Lao Air flight is listed with a scheduled Udon Thani arrival.
Either the flight schedule as displayed by The Irish Clock has been changed and there is no Sunday flight…or else the flights have been suspended entirely.
