Either you are seeking to make a purchase of a car, or else you want to rent one — this certainly is NOT going to be some sort of discussion about the ‘makes and models’ of cars driving around Udon Thani Province or City.
Baht&Sold is certainly one place to look, although you cannot target Udon Thani specifically. You can only opt for the North East Region in your search.
The search engine at Thai Visa Classifieds does offer you the option of choosing Udon Thani, however — and it is another service you can use which has in the past proven of use to others.
I have never been involved in the rental of a car in Udon Thani, but from what I have read of them, Lek Car Rental sounds like it might be the best — or at least, it is one of the topmost of the choicest rental agencies. And by this, I mean that you will be hitting the road in a vehicle with probably the most complete insurance coverage available. I assure you, the last thing you want on your holiday is to be involved in a motor vehicle mishap in Thailand — whether your fault or not — if you only have minimal vehicular and personal insurance coverage. Read what their site has to say about this.
UdonMap has them as sponsors, by the way; and if you were to take a look at UdonMap‘s Car Hire/Transport page, Lek Car & Motorbike Rental is only one of two rental agencies listed on the location map. The other car rental agency currently on their map is Pet Car Rental (the map has a non-working website listed for this agency). Of course, further down the page, there are a couple links to other rental agencies, as there are on the Vehicle Hire page.
Another Udon Thani-based car rental agency I often see advertised is UdonCarRent.com.
One more local agency is Sitmecru.
Of course, there are a lot more rental agencies, and I have often covered the topic in the past. Some are Udon Thani-based, while a bewildering host of others have no presence in Udon Thani at all — they are worldwide agencies that will serve as your middleman and book a car for you.
In the end, it is up to you to choose who you wish to deal with. I have no experience in renting a car — maybe a big-name worldwide agency can do the job admirably. However, it seems to me that a really good local agent might be best, particularly if any sort of mishap were to take place.
But that is just my impression and opinion.
