Budget Car Rental is represented by a Thailand arm — click the following logo:
Another rental agency who may or may not have an actual presence at Udon Thani — most agencies simply arrange with a local agency on your behalf — is VizivoCarHire.com:
There are many local agencies who do rent out cars, but I have no contact phone numbers for them — only addresses. And that being so, I see little value in mentioning them.
The Udon Thani International Airport‘s website has a car rental service page: udon thani airport car rental.
Although I have never had any personal experience with them, Lek Car Rental is entirely local, and quite impresses me:
Another of those agencies that may or may not have a local presence, but which can arrange a car rental for you is Argus Car Rentals (or Hire):
Thailand Car Rentals is still another option:
Still another option is Rhino Car Hire:
Or Elephant Car Hire:
As I already pointed out, nearly all of these places will not have an actual office in Udon thani — they will simply make arrangements with a rental agency locally on your behalf.
There is a website for what claims to be “Udon thani Car Rental Counter, In Airport Terminal.” However, even though they give their contact details at the bottom of that web page, I am wholly unimpressed by the fact that none of the photos of their available cars display any longer, and the links to them do not function. The site is ill-maintained, to say the very least.
Yet another outsider who can book a car for you is Auto Europe:
The same can be said for Any Airport Car Hire (or Rental):
You can even book through Maplandia.com:
There are a host more agencies who will book you something:
There are many others. The World is full of agencies who can book you a car from afar in Udon Thani. But I think I would prefer to deal with a local outfit like Lek Car Rental.
Three other local options are:
I will leave the final word on the subject to UdonMap: Car Hire/Transport.

Entry from: Cape Town, South Africa
Entry Title: “Return to Cape Town”
Entry:
“April 12, 2008
Cape Town, ZA
Back in the Mother City again. We are also back at the Carnival Court, but in a slightly quieter room on the third floor. We paid 1,150 rand in advance for 4 nights and also 350 rand for four days secure parking for our rental car. We have painted ourselves into a corner geographically speaking. We are at the tip of Africa. We could go back up the western coast of Africa to Spain, etc. and then fly home from Europe or (looking at the world map) escape to South America. Americans have a history of fleeing to South America, often with other people’s money. A year and a half ago the cheapest flights from Cape Town to Rio cost over $2000. At least that is what our internet searches showed us. But in Nairobi our internet search found a flight by Emirates Airline for less than $1000. We even stopped at their office in Dar es Salam to confirm this. It is strange that the cost of a flight from Cape to Rio should be so high as it is nearly the same distance between the two cities as it is from New York to Liverpool for which there are super cheap flights. But when we got to Cape Town we checked the Emirates’ internet site again and the price was back up around $1400. Someone suggested we go to the travel agency down the street. We did and found out that if we just wanted to get to South America we could fly Malaysia Airlines direct to Buenos Aires for $5212 rand each including taxes, etc. or about $695. So, on the 16th we will be flying to Argentina. We will be back in the Western Hemisphere again.
Our cost of living index report for South Africa gives the price of a Big Mac sandwich (not the meal) at 16.95 rand a 6 pack of beer at the grocery store costs 40 rand. The exchange rate is about 7.1 rand to the US dollar.”
