First off, despite the realistic-looking site, there really is no isaan air. I’m not sure just when this hoax began, but it was likely at least four years ago. Many people will just gloss over a page like the Cabin Amenities and take for granted that it was a genuine report on what the airline has to offer aboard one of their jets.

Wikimapia plays along and actually gives a satellite image of Isaan Airlines Head Office (Nakhon Phanom Town Municipality).

I’ve noticed a few forums have had some discussion about the bogus airline, including this aviation forum, as well as ThaiVisa and Phuket Info.
People are still getting duped, however — witness this travel question from 2008 on a Lonely Planet forum:
Anybody know whether Isaan Air is operating out of Don Muang or Suvarnabhumi? And do they have an interlining agreement with Thai??? Is there a Visa On Arrival for The Republic of Isaan? Or an exemption?

Surin mit dem Elephant Buffet / Breakfast

Jedes Jahr im November findet in Surin im Osten Thailands (Isaan) der “Elephant Round-Up” statt, eine 10-tägige Veranstaltung, bei der über 280(!) Elefanten aus verschiedenen Landesteilen in der Stadt zusammenkommen.
Es gibt diverse Veranstaltungen wie z.B. eine 3-stündige Show im “Elephant Stadium” und das “Elephant Buffet / Breakfast”, bei dem die Elefanten durch die Stadt ziehen und sich an einem mehrere Hundert Meter langen Früchte-Buffet bedienen können. Letzteres wird in diesem Video gezeigt.
