Lastly, I would just like to single this out. Amazon.com has an MP3 download called Learning Isaan (Lao) that stretches my credulity sufficiently for me to offer this commentary:
Granted, it is only 89¢, so hardly much of a loss. But how can an audio download of some Isaan hits give anyone a grasp of the language? At least in watching many karaoke-style videos on YouTube, a viewer can see the actual words coursing across the screen, even if their English equivalent is unknown. Without a written text to refer to as the singing in the MP3 download progresses along, I cannot imagine anyone profiting even remotely with this product as a language learning aid.
All I see it as is a simple gimmick to sell a music collection of Isaan Morlam and Lukthung hits. So why not merely offer it as that?
