In doing a January 23, 2011, edit on this post, I came across this statement on Steve Graham’s site (Steve’s English Zone) under the page for Udon Thani Rajabhat University:
Unfortunately, this is the last semester that I will be teaching at the Language Center, Udon Thani Rajabhat University due to the recent cull of foreign teachers. I wish all my students the very best for the future.
I wish he would date his pages — an article of his from just last month in the Bangkok Post makes no mention that he will soon no longer be “an English-language teacher at the Language Centre, Udon Thani Rajabhat University in northeast Thailand.”
As well, I came across this ad posted on the TEFL site, Ajarn:

Application period January 10th – February 15th, 2011
Recruitment: 3 English Instructors
(2 for the Language Center and 1 for the English Program)
Remuneration: 27,790 THB. (House allowance is included)
Native English speaker (Canadian, American, British and Australian) with:
- Good command of academic English.
- Bachelor Degree or above.
- Certificate in TEFL, TESL or TESOL.
- Age between 25-55 years old.
- Good teaching, communication, interpersonal and hospitality skills.
- Experience in teaching TOEFL, IELTS or Conversation courses. (not required but preferable)
