Udon Thani Schools

As of the date of this post, the site Ajarn Jobspace (which lists employment opportunities within Thailand for teachers) lists but three schools in all of Udon Thani. Two of them are kindergarten, primary, or elementary — Paramin School and Pattana Panya School; and one is a languages school — The Ratchada School of Languages.

Concerning the Paramin School, there are apparently two separate schools — one kindergarten, and another elementary. This was explained in an UdonMap thread titled Paramin Kindergarten School (Sponsor).

And the Pattana Panya School is also represented with an introductory UdonMap forum thread.

Don Bosco School is very difficult to gain entry to, from what I have read. The teaching levels there run from kindergarten all the way up to high school (secondary school).

St. Mary’s School may also be somewhat exclusive.

As for language schools, there are a number of others besides The Ratchada School of Languages. There is the Let’s Talk International Language Institute that teaches quite a number of languages; the German Language School, also with its introductory thread on the forum; and the AUA (American University Alumni Language Center).

Of course, do not overlook Udon Thani Rajabhat University (UDRU).

There is also the Udonthani Technical College, which may well be entirely distinct from this other Udonthani Technical College.

I do not have any information to add on the Satri Rachinuthit School — apart from the website, I know nothing of the school. I did locate a YouTube video of some very engaging female students performing a few dance numbers in front of other students — all female — so maybe the school is not co-educational.

Apparently there is even an Udon Thani Driving School (another UdonMap forum thread).

Another type of school is the Udon Thani Thai Traditional Massage & Health Promotion School.

One school for which I could find no real information was Ban Don Kloi School (I see it mentioned here, but have no idea what its relationship to the site is).

There is also some sort of Technical College relating to the Boy Scouts — everything seems to be in Thai, for I could find no English information about it. You might try this site if you can handle Thai. The following video might relate to it:

There are probably over 4,000 more schools in the entirety of Udon Thani Province. Clearly, this would be far too great an undertaking for a mere blog post, so I believe I’ll cap things right here.

About Garnet Barcelo

I am a Canadian retiree, married to an Isaan (Thailand) lady whom I met in Udon Thani City in January 2003. We married in late May 2005. And she has been with me here in Canada since May 2006. Her two sons joined us in September 2008. Ever since that first visit to Thailand in 2003, my dream has been to somehow spend most of my retired life over there with her, but the financial reality of my retired life is not making that possible. It will take a miracle to get this dream to come true.
