The Thai Esarn Classic Restaurant is located in Baulkham Hills (Sydney), New South Wales, Australia. Apart from some pretty good reviews, I haven’t been able to find out much about it. You can check out the reviews here; they’re mainly rather stale, with one this year so far, just one in all of 2009, and the others from 2008 or older. Still, people can also complain, so an absence of that sort of thing may suggest something positive.
Other than the suggestion that they might be “cash only,” and that it is also “BYO” (which I imagine implies that people can bring their own wine), I was not able to locate anything more about it — they evidently have no Website, and I wasn’t even able to uncover a related photo of the business.
But they’ve been around for a few years.
And I do love my Thai food, so I wish them well!

And now…since I have no more to offer concerning this restaurant…I’m going off on a wildly unrelated tangent in this post and offer the following Filipino video that I came across.
If you’ve watched much Thai TV, you’ll immediately recognize how closely this “interview” matches up with popular Thai daytime drama.
You can get background on who the woman is in the video, and what she’s bawling about here – but be sure to read the comments at the end of the article, for it seems not all of her countrymen appreciate this kind of orchestrated, soap-opera, blubbering.
Come on! — musical accompaniment to the whole thing? How spontaneous can that possibly be?
At any rate, I’m also posting the political and social message that accompanied this video on Youtube, for I suspect that it at least has merit.

Our government officials have forgotten that these money are intended to build schools, hospitals, fund scholarships for deserving students, health care, housing for thousands of families, fight poverty, food for the children…etc They have taken the rights of the poor people to live and survive.
Their human dignity lost as we watch videos on Youtube of children and families eating garbage gathered from dump sites and restaurant garbage bins. Each day is a struggle to survive.
We believe that these videos are helpful. There will be a long list of candidates in this coming 2010 elections.
Some will aim to get their power back so they can continue to live their lavish and wasteful lifestyles at our expense. We must not let this happen again.
