…The AEC [Asean Economic Community, expected to "be effective in 2015"] will challenge local property firms to develop residential projects in Thai resort destinations as investors from Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and elsewhere require a second home in this country. That is why SC Asset is interested in expanding investment in resort destinations, focusing on both local and foreigners’ demand, Kree said.
Supalai managing director Atip Bichanond said there would also be demand in destinations close to neighbouring countries, such as Udon Thani province.
“We are interested in expanding our investment in Udon Thani to serve both locals and foreigners who marry Thais, and foreign investors who will use that province as a gateway to Laos,” he said.
Other listed companies are also interested in investing in Udon Thani province, such as Land & Houses.
Nothing that follows is a recommendation — I have never had experience with any of these firms, nor do I personally know anyone who has. Also note that I have edited this post on May 10, 2012.

Another Udon Thani home construction firm is Dreamup House Builder (select the English language option on the website):
This current sponsor of UdonMap appears to be a Thai firm, the folks involved claiming to have construction experience of “more than 30 years.” Some previously completed homes — exteriors and interiors. As well as promising to ensure that whatever construction permits are required have been obtained, they will also apply for an official house address and arrange for utilities (electricity and water). They offer as a warranty: five years for the structure work, as well as roof integrity (as in remaining leak-proof); and termite-proofing will go ahead at the start of construction, and be maintained throughout for three years, with monitoring each six months.
Another possibility is N.K.D. Construction:
We are based in Nong Khai, Thailand, though we can undertake projects throughout Isaan, including Khon Kaen, Udon Thani and beyond. We also offer our design and construction services in Vientiane and throughout Laos.

The first Farang construction outfit I ever heard of in Udon Thani was Alan the builder, more officially known as A.S.B. Construction:

This Thai company’s office is located right in Udon Thani City.
One more Thai construction firm is A-House Builder Co., Ltd, still another sponsor of UdonMap. Unfortunately, their Website — despite having the English option as the default at their landing page — turns out to be all-Thai when you proceed past the flashy introduction. That is quite a flaw, in my opinion.
There is another alternative for the A-House Builder website, fortunately — the company is also hosted at QuinL Thailand with a functioning English option here:
They, too, have their office right in Udon Thani City.

No doubt, there will be many other Thai firms not identified here. As I said at outset, I am not recommending any of the firms above; nor have I omitted any firms because of any bad reputation that may have come my way.
