Condominiums are still not exactly a commonplace in Isaan. In fact, the only time I have noticed one being advertised was today on the realty website Isaan Properties. I see no sense in posting a link to the property located in Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, since I am certain it will have a limited longevity. But the ad said the unit was on the second floor of this building:
The building even has a pool:
This was the write-up:
Province: Nakhorn Ratchasima
Price: THB 400,000
Square Feet: 33
Full Description: Some part of condo unit, ideal for leisure in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima), the gate to Northeast of Thailand also have known in “Isaan” only 3 hours from Bangkok and can be owned directly by foreigners.
This condo is located in the well-known place call Hua Ta Lay, just 5 minutes to city center by car also convenience with swimming pool, laundry, store.
It is on the second floor and also with a quite big balcony.
I am perplexed as to just what is meant by “some part of condo unit” — the entire unit cannot be bought? Or is it like a time share, and that is why it is only “ideal for leisure in Korat” — which would mean, then, that it would NOT be ideal for residency?
It seems Korat may have some other opportunities — thanks to the Thai Visa Forum:
If you go to www.propertykorat.com and search Nakhon Ratchasima and Condominum there are some condos for sale.
FBI is currently advertising this:
680,000 THB. per unit
This will be one of the first condo-complex’s in Isan, where foreigners will be allowed to own their own exclusive condo, in their own name.
This condo-complex will be built 4 km. (SE) from Nong Khai town, and will contain 80 rooms, at approx. 26 sq. meters.
The condo’s will be sold fully furnished and the complex will offer all services, a restaurant, a supermarket, a swimming pool, 24 hour security, free transport to town and much, much more.

The photo that accompanies the ad is NOT the actual structure, but supposedly one very similar.
At any rate, there do seem to be condominiums in some of the major centres in Isaan, but they are far from commonplace, as I said at outset.
