Isaan comprises many provinces, of which one is Surin. If you would consider something there, then perhaps check out the following:
Their category for Accommodations includes both Apartments and sometimes even a few Serviced Apartments. But just in case neither of those links are valid when you try to visit them, then just seek them out yourself at Surin Isan Thaiapartments.
Another website advertising apartments for Thailand in general has 10 of them on offer, and seven of those are in Surin. However, when I clicked on a number of them for further information, I was brought back to the website above — Surin Isan Thaiapartments. Obviously, the websites are associated. But if you wish to have a look at this second website anyway, it is Rentals and Accommodation in Thailand.
For the purposes of this post, I am only zeroing in on rentals. But as it happens, I did come across an entire apartment building that was for sale — reduced in price, too. It had been dropped to seventy million (70,000,000) Baht from eighty million (80,000,000) Baht. Some food for thought, however…Geoff Richards says this about apartments in a January 1, 2009, article at Ajarn:
ACCOMMODATION
Houses and apartments are cheap to rent. What would cost upwards of 10,000 baht per month in Bangkok can be had for 2,500 baht in Isaan. Accommodation can be found either in town or outside it, with the latter frequently offering beautiful views of paddy fields and fruit trees.Apartment blocks in town tend to be seedy affairs because most of the tenants are male tourists that frequent go-go bars. If you are here for the longer-term, then you should rent out of town.
I am going to direct any apartment-rental seekers to UdonMap — specifically, their section in Accommodation that is currently listing 18 Apartments. Some of the offerings might strongly challenge the typical Western notion of what an apartment should entail, but decide that for yourself.
As an April 5, 2012, post edit, I have taken a search around the Web to find some other websites that may have touched upon the topic of Isaan and thus might be — at very least — entertaining. And yes, a couple of the sites are not in English:
