According to Wikipedia, the city of Udon Thani has a population of 143,081.
Another source gives quite a different figure:

TripAtlas.com gives Udon Thani a population of 142,670.
The Business Travel Report Website pegs the city’s population at “approximately 100,000.”
Yet this site listing the populations of various Thailand cities has Udon with a population of 222,425.
Quoting still another site: “According to World Gazetteer, a German-based statistical bureau, the population of Udon Thani at the start of 2006 was 251,000.”
And quoting Mongabay.com: “The population of Udon Thani, Thailand is 247231 according to the GeoNames geographical database.”
Utopia-Asia (an openly Gay site) claims: “The population of Udon Thani is about 250,000 (that’s about 10,000 Utopians).”
The Udon Thani Cancer Registry has some interesting population statistics.
Unescap.org has quite a detailed selection of data on the Provincial population, albeit based upon a 10-year old census (2000).
Nok Air’s four-page Udon Thani guidebook has the Provincial population at 1,527,562.
The French Cyber-Flag.net site has the province with “1 503 600 habitants.”
