Introducing Udon Thani
Udon Thani has one foot on the highway and the other off the beaten track. The city boomed on the back of the Vietnam War, exploding into life as US air bases opened nearby. Today it’s become the region’s primary transport hub and commercial centre, and you have to dig deep behind its prosperous concrete veneer to find any flashes of its past. Because it lacks the urban chutzpah of Khon Kaen and the touristy appeal of Nong Khai, which is equally convenient for visiting wonderful surrounding attractions, Udon sees few travellers.

OK, the video isn’t that great and the movement isn’t that noticeable but I think it’s still awesome. The movement is not from wind or sleight of hand.
The flowers have all been removed from the plant to prevent anyone from stealing them and breeding these flowers elsewhere. It is a hybrid of Codariocalyx Motorius Ohashi Leguminosae.
The plants are most active from November to February – the cool season – and between 7am and 10am or 4:40pm and 6pm. *Lonely Planet Thailand
