The Work-A-Day Gripe

Every day I have to go to work, I struggle with defeat.

The clock-radio comes on at 3:30 a.m. Then the rush in the morning to clean up and dress, make my lunch for the day, force down some coffee and a brief snack before readying for the outdoors; and then going upsatirs to the bedroom to kiss my Jack good-bye.

Then comes the mile-long haul in any kind of weather, beginning with the somewhat unnerving meander through the black alleyway alongside the house. Most of the trip will be done at a jog in a bid to catch the first or second Skytrain to leave Surrey’s King George Station.

800px-King_George_Station_with_Mk_I

Did I mention I’m 60?

Once aboard, I rest and bide my time until I disembark in New Westminster, where I have to cross over to a different rail line and catch another Skytrain.

This second leg has seen me fall unawares and actually go beyond my destination stop, but this has not happened for at least a year. It usually occurs because I am resting too deeply.

Gilmore Skytrain Station is that final stop for me, and then comes another hike of about a mile. It happened yesterday that it was blowing a driving rain so furiously that I had to jog the distance to work, arriving with my entire front soaked. The uncomfortable chill stayed with me most of my day.

And when my day truly is done, then I do the trip in reverse. But at least it is to go home, so my heart is generally lighter. I just do not like that the trains start filling up dramatically as mid-afternoon approaches, and there have been days where I have let several trains pass by because there had been such a crush of passengers just standing, unable to take any seating. I sometimes find myself unable to bear joining the ignoble mass, but prolonging doing so is never a solution — it will only become worse, in all likelihood.

This is my daily commute — all done in an effort to yield up yet another day of my life to a job I have never liked from the time I got into it, back in September, 1996. At least back then, I was not as aware as I am now of the fact that I may not have all that many more days of life remaining to me. And with this awareness, enduring this true daily grind is absolutely crushing, for I am expending my life so meaninglessly.

There HAS to be more for me. It is why I cling so desperately to the hope and belief that it will somehow be possible for me to find the means of generating a generous living from affiliate marketing. I would use some of my life trying to make a difference to not just my own family, but as many people as I could possibly help. A Web site beneficial to people is something I long to create and host, even though I do not now know just what form it would take.

But as I have said, how many more days or weeks or months or years of vital life remains to me? I need to be free of where I find myself now, somehow. I must find the way…or it must find me, and make itself clearly known.

The Work A Day Gripe
Colic and gripe water??

My 5 week old daughter is colic. Mycolin drops were not working so we began using gripe water, which seems to be working. I am using Wellements gripe water before each feeding (1/2 dose >= 6x a day). I am concerened about the sodium barcbonate and glycerin it in as I am using it daily. Are these ingredients safe to use daily? How often is everyone else using gripe water and what brand of gripe water are people using? Has anyone tried the brand Colic Calm-does it work? Has anyone tried just diluted chamomile tea for colic relief? Any suggestions would help (gas drops, infant massage and swaddling have not worked and the ped. has advised against probiotics as she is breastfed and I am eating probiotic yogart everyday the is supposed to be passing through breastmilk). Thanx

My daughter was also colic and she was prescribed Hyoscyamine Sulfate Oral Drops, 5 drops every 6 hours as needed. It definately helped when nothing else did. She’s now almost four months old and seems to have grown out of it for the most part.

Best Network Marketing Leads – the People You Want to Work With

The best network marketing leads are those that come to you with raised hands asking for your help.

A lot of people who want to build an income in MLM analyze products and they analyze companies they might join, but they don’t really ask what is maybe the most important question: Does my sponsor have a tested, proven system that I can plug into to build my business? You need to talk to the person recruiting you and find out exactly what they are doing, step-by-step, to build their business. If they just started, that is OK. So ask what is THEIR sponsor doing? You need a proven system you can just plug into. If there is no successful system in place, then go somewhere else, because that means you will have to develop your own reliable lead-generation system. Which makes your chance of success very, very small. When you analyze a system, one important aspect is … does it make sense? A good system has to feed you leads of people who are real actual targeted prospects for your business. Lots of systems just give you contact information of lots of people who have no interest whatsoever in your offer. You will not succeed in your own business of ANY kind if you have to become a salesperson. You want a lead generation system that gives you real warriors, people who are determined to succeed in network marketing, but who haven’t gotten there yet. THOSE are people you can build with.

Life is too short to have to work with people you do not want to work with. That’s one reason people choose to build an MLM business – they want to escape from a job working with people they just don’t respect or like. But sometimes a person loses sight of that fact and just wants to recruit anyone who will say “yes”, and they sign up anybody they possibly can. Your best bet is to describe the people you really want at the start and stick to them. One good yardstick when you’re talking to somebody is to ask yourself, “Is this someone I’d want to go on a 30-day cruise with?” Part of the value of MLM is that you get to pick the people you will work closely with. Why choose someone you just don’t like? Just focus on the ones who bring fun into your life, who share your dreams and goals. It’s exciting to make new friends you really like and then to be able to support them in achieving their lifetime goals.

It’s a big chore to have to talk daily to someone who is unfocused and with whom you have nothing in common, and listen to them gripe about the business you love. Best practice is to set your standards firmly in your mind when you talk to people.

These are some of the topics covered in the ebook “Success In 10 Steps” by Michael Dlouhy. Dlouhy’s book is very popular with MLMers, having passed 100,000 downloads. Many have used the strategies to build their business. Target market for the book is current network marketers who have not achieved the success they’d like in the business. Obviously, that is a huge market. The frustrated MLMer learns many key points of network marketing success, and gets a step-by-step plan for changing their results from bad to good. The book doesn’t promote any companies or products, so it has been a very popular and effective lead generation tool for a lot of people in MLM.

Has anyone tried Gripe Water, to help with reflux?

My 2 and a half week old baby boy has reflux and was put on Zantac and switched to Alimentum formula, plus i went and bought those Dr. Brown’s bottles to use. They said the Zantac takes a good 3-4 days to really work. I was doing some research online and was reading about Gripe Water. Has anyone had any success with it and did it help with reflux. And if so how long did it take to notice improvement? What brand/kind was the Gripe Water?

i gave my son gripe water to help with trapped gas. it always worked and my son seemed to like it! plus it is natural and safe. I used natural wonders brand.
