Ubon is countryside town. It is not large town for sure. In fact, more of village community as you state. Pace of life is definitely slow, with mainly agricultural communities around the city.

Question about corn meal in Thailand preferably in the Isan.?
I really miss corn bread and making corn dogs.Is there anywhere I can buy real corn meal because what they have at Tesco,Big C and Tops is not corn meal nor corn flour it is corn starch not matter what it says on the bag.
Best to go to a higher end store, like Whole Foods or shop online. Here is a link that might be helpful
