Evidently a certain element of the Thai population proclaimed their support of the establishment during the recent “Red Shirt” disruption of the nation’s capital city, Bangkok.

I’ve culled this from an E-mail my wife received.

It led off with this Thai text.

คนไทยที่รักชาติ รักสถาบัน
ขอยกย่องสิ่งที่ท่านแสดงออกฯ

อดทนไว้ หลายครั้ง หลายคนไม่เข้าใจ
ในสิ่งที่เป็นอยู่คือ ณ ปัจจุบัน
หลายคนต้องการให้รัฐบาล ทำอะไรก็ได้ ให้มันไปให้พ้น
เราคิดได้ แต่ในความเป็นจริงกับผู้ปฏิบัติ ไม่ใช่ ….
สลายมันง่าย ภายในเวลา2ชั่วโมงเท่านั้น หากจะทำ
และถูกใจ ตรงใจฝ่ายMun ที่ต้องการให้ทำ

I tried one of the online translation services, but the result made very little sense to me.

I attempted to get Jack to translate some of the Thai in the following images, but she was in a rush to get back for the 5:00 p.m. opening of her restaurant. About all I gleaned was that some of it related to Thai people declaring of the Red Shirts, “Why haven’t you asked what it is that we want?”

It seems there is a lot of support for the current Prime Minister, Abhisit.

You’ll note that one of the photos displays a design that looked to me sort of like the image of someone peering from out of the box of a guitar, or some similar musical instrument. Jack set me straight — they are doorstep carpets with Thaksin’s image, the intent being for people to wipe their feet upon it.

I never got the chance to ask what was the significance of the suited man on his knees who was seemingly paying worshipful homage before a small dog.
