New Year’s Eve 2009
New Year’s Eve 2009
The above video is housed on this Web site, and runs about a minute in length. I originally uploaded it to YouTube without any viewer restrictions. The first third of the minute-long video featured some footage of a couple who were engaged in some close, raunchy dancing. I didn’t want to draw attention to it by mentioning it when I posted the video on YouTube. Well, people managed to find it anyway. Someone saying she was the mother of the girl who was part of the subject couple wrote a comment that she wanted me to take the video off because her daughter had been drugged and didn’t know what she was doing.
And then someone claiming to be the girl herself wrote how humiliated she was by it all, and wanted me to at least remove the portion of the video showcasing her and the guy with her. She also claimed that they had been both drugged, and had no memory of what was going on.
Yeah, right. I guess calling it being”drugged” instead of being “smashed” or “hammered” makes it seem like there is no responsibility for what is happening.
Anyway, I tweaked the viewership of the video so that no more than 25 people are supposed to be able to see it. Or at least, I think I did. I don’t know if that actually worked. But I haven’t heard from these people since they posted their comments to me early this past week.
The whole thing was actually quite disturbing for me, and made my Monday more stressful than it already was. But if these people had just said nothing, then no attention would likely have been drawn to the video. I titled it simply “New Year’s Eve 2009,” and never suggested that it was anything more than a minute’s worth of footage that my wife and I took while out at Central City Pub with three other people on New Year’s Eve. I never advertised that there was anything peculiar being filmed. And now the people embarrassed about something that happened there that night are bringing the whole subject up for everyone to read, and are wanting me to shut down the video.
I made the YouTube viewership limitation compromise. However, I am going to host the video on this site openly — I just won’t activate any ‘tags’ that might lead people to it.

New Year 2009 trip dilemma, Seattle VS. Portland?
Me, my mom and some family friends are planning to go to Portland, OR on Dec. 29, 2008 to January 3, 2009 because we wanna check out the place and see if its a nice place to relocate (we’re from south texas, 1 hr from border). I’m wondering if we could also go to Seattle since its kinda near Portland. But my problem is do u think its better to spend the 1st 3 days in Portland then New year’s eve in Seattle or vice versa or what do u think we will do? Get a one way ticket from here to Portland then from Seattle back here? Whats the easiest and cheapest way to go to Seattle from Portland? help me plan our trip please. And what are the coolest places to visit?
extra details:
its gonna be me- 19 yrs old, my mom-late 50s, family friends-early 50s, 2 late 20s and a 2 yr old boy…
spend as much time in portland as you possibly can! portland is an amazing city. i actually just got back from a three day trip to seattle. . . i mean, i had fun, but portland is SO much better. the easiest trip from portland to seattle would be by train, amtrak. OR the portland airport just started offering charter flights direct from portland to seattle although i am not sure of the price.
id take a one way trip to portland from texas, spend time here, then take the train to seattle, then fly from the seattle airport back to texas.
coolest places to visit in portland:
saturday market
omsi
the zoo (its actually a blast and im 21)
mt tabor park if you’re outdoorsy at all, there’s amazing views of portland from the tippy top.
New Year’s Eve 2009

At Grand Hotel Terme Astro of Tabiano Bagni Countdown for New Year’s Eve
All in one night: it is the New Year’s Eve of Grand Hotel Terme Astro. The hotel has prepared for its guests an irresistible tourbillon of music, dancing, good food and a touch of risk at the green table.
More original than theme parties, more involving than live concerts in public places, trendier than vip clubs, in one night the four-star resort offers pure fun, to say goodbye to 2008 and give the best welcome to 2009.
Going to theatre, drinking an aperitif, tasting an elegant dinner, dancing, trying the luck: not one, but five nights carefully distilled in an elixir of bien vivre which artists, chefs and the staff of the hotel and wellness center near Parma are preparing in every detail.
Now it is time to reveal the secret programme: the mistery can finally be solved. The party will start at 7.30 pm at Teatro Dell’Acqua for a “sparkling” welcome. Among toasts, laughs, glasses of wine and bubbles, the atmosphere is just right to introduce the “Musical Show”.
All of a sudden, Broadway is here. The stage is on: lights, costumes, music, the show begins. Cats, Chicago, Dirty Dancing and Mary Poppins, the greatest musicals in history, dreams of entire generations, are ready to be revived. Unforgettable songs and magnificent choreographies will entertain the guests till dinner. At 9.30 pm the scenario changes: from the stage of the Teatro Dell’Acqua to the halls of the restaurant Delle Calle, where the gastronomic show, magisterially directed by the chefs, will start at 9.30 pm with a delicious menu.
The delicate tastes of rthe fish are perfectly combined with the strong ones of the meat in order to create an exquisite dinner.
Let’s start with the hors d’oeuvres: culaccia and local cold cuts followed by scallops Saint Jacques. After the risotto with truffle and porcini and Pasta “sacks” stuffed with crabmeat and courgettes, it is time for the crayfish Catalan and filets of ox Rossini accompanied with side dishes and a champagne sorbet in the middle. And then, grand final with tropical in Grand Marnier, dessert and spumante.
At the hotel children are special guests. Only for the little ones a special New Year’s Eve Dinner with prosciutto and salami accompanied by pizzas, lasagnas, veal cutlets in breadcrumbs, roasted potatoes, chocolate pudding, cubes of pandoro and a special toast.
After the midnight it will start a long journey with the time machine, to follow the romantic love story of Danny and Sandy, the protagonists of the musical Grease. Welcoming the new year at the rhythm of marvellous songs: can you imagine a better way to start 2009?
This is not the only chance to have fun at the Grand Hotel Terme Astro: ballroom dancing for the those who love traditions and green tables for those who want to challenge the Fortune.
