Which nation supply’s most number of prostitutes to the world?
I would be thankful if some one, lists the countries and their percentage of involvment in prostitution
Asia…without a doubt.
Particularly Southeast Asia…Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia (most likely the least), Singapore…
Human trafficking is rampant here…also, people in areas such as Isaan, Thailand (the Northeast) are so poor that prostitution is often their only option.
isaan of northeast thailand
Six days ago (April 5, 2012), I published a post titled Isaan Region of Thailand. It had followed publication just the day before of yet two other posts about the region, so I urged readers to refer to them because it is just not possible to post with much originality when the subject matter being dealt with in the posts is published with so little distance between them in time.
And now I find myself deferring yet again to that earlier material.
Unfortunately, whether the posts are one day apart or all of seven days, originality in content is too difficult when the topic is identical, and being published this near the earlier appearances.
What I can do here is add a link to a set of what are currently 82 photos that Flickr member P. Suesskind has posted there in an album titled North East Thailand. He indicates that the images were taken during a period of time spanning from January 1, 2002, to the current year 2012.
There is also what may be the 2008 reflections of a foreigner who had paid a stay of some duration in Nong Han, Udon Thani. The article is fairly short, and I had been reluctant to post it because the English resembled something that had been article spun. I detest that practice, but it is commonplace. However, article spinning does not produce poor vocabulary (that is, misspellings), and the English in the article seems more like that of someone whose first language is other than English. If you wish, you can make your own decision: Nong Han – Udon Thani – Isaan/northeast Thailand.
As well, there is a website called Thailand Travel Online which has a section that highlights some of the festivals and attractions of Isaan.
I don’t understand why more Expats living in Isaan do not write of their lives there. As an example, there is this book that is available through Amazon:
Thailand has been discovered, and hordes of travellers are now flocking to experience the diverse culture, friendly people and delightful beaches for themselves.
Despite this rapid increase in tourism, there are still villages in the Northeast of the country where things have changed little for hundreds of years.
Join the author during his unexpected six-month sojourn in Northeast Thailand. Meet farmers, fishermen, spirit doctors and Thai boxers and share in his misadventures as he comes to terms with the warm community of a rural Isaan village.
Sometimes hilarious, often touching, occasionally tragic – but never dull – this book takes the reader into the heart of the Northeast, and provides an insight into a traditional way of life and a culture that is fast disappearing.
From time to time, someone will broadcast a live webcam on the Web that displays a local scene that depends where in Isaan the camera has been set up. Eventually, these things all seem to be discontinued. Also, they only broadcast a still image every 30 seconds or so. You have to sit and wait for the frame to change. Well, I have come across an actual live webcam that is broadcasting a true feed — not just a still image every 30 seconds or so. You can find it at Justin.tv, if you’re curious…and if it’s still running by the time you read this. There is even a volume control, although I could not hear anything. However, it was after 1:30 a.m. when I checked it out, so there was not anything happening wherever in Sakhon Nakhon this webcam is.
As a September 19 (2012) post edit, here are a few further suggestions you might take a look at for more impressions of the Isaan Region. All are links to various posts of the blog Isaan Life:

Food and Fruit of Thailand
Thai food is internationally famous both for it’s taste and aesthetics. Whether hot chili spiced or bland, harmony between ingredients and tastes is the guiding principle behind each Thai food dish.
Thai cuisine is a rich fusion of centuries-old Eastern and Western influences harmoniously combined into something uniquely and deliciously Thai.
Perhaps the most famous two food dishes from Thailand available at nearly every Thai food restaurant in the western world are “Pad Thai” (stir-fried noodles) and Tom Yum Goong (Spicy and Sour Shrimp soup).
Regions of Thailand tend to flavor their foods and use certain ingredients a little different from other regions. There are generallythese distinctions…
Northern Food: such as Nam Prig Num, Hungla Curry and Sai Oury.
Central Food: such as Tai Pla Curry, Nam Prig Ong, Tom Jerd, Geng Som, Nam Prig and Pla Too.
Northeastern Food: such as “Lapb” (Minced meat), Som Tam (spicy green papaya salad), Gai Yang (Grilled Chicken), and Bla Rah (fermented fish paste). Isaan is known for it’s spicy chili dishes.
Southern Food: such as Geng Liang, Nam Bpoo Doo, which are hotter than other parts of Thailand, but nothing tops the Northeast (Isaan) region for hot spicy foods. I think the south is more known for it’s sour foods. They ten to like a little bit more lemon / lime in their Thai food dishes.
