So what are we talking about?
If Thai League Football, then I expect a number of teams could qualify as being Isaan Clubs. One team is even called the Thai Airways-Look Isan Football Club.
I do not know if it actually happened, but note this short feature titled Isaan Club in the TPL 2010 (TPL being the Thai Premier League) which opined that there could indeed be a football club in the making behind which all of Isaan might rally.
And in an article from last October 12: Right behind the new champion [Siracha FC], in second place, Khon Kaen FC is in a good position to get promoted. The Isaan club just needs one point out of the last two games to seal their TPL birth having 52 points on their account actually. Khon Kaen were lurking behind Air Force United all the time and just used the opponents frailty period to pass them. A year back, Khon Kaen failed to get promoted on the last day of the season and Sisaket FC eventually became the first Isaan club ever to play in the Thai Premier League. In case they really would be able to be promoted they have big plans in hand for the next season and money from new sponsors will help them to get Khon Kaens budget in shape. It also looks like that the board is having a clear vision how the squad shall look like next year. And probably we will see a young German lad playing in the TPL next year. [From here.]
Interestingly, there was a Christmas Thai Premier League playoff match between Nakhon Pathom and Sisaket that did not end up being much in the spirit of unity. It seems players and fans took great exception to the card-happy antics of the field officials.
As for other Isaan clubs, one could list some in the golf arena, and certainly there are no end of nightclubs — both within and outside of Isaan, for even Bangkok has a few.
There is even an Isan and Indochina Study Club belonging to the Naresuan University in Phitsanulok.
There is a Pattaya Isan Club, but I have no idea whatsoever what it’s about.
So…what sort of Isaan club do you have in mind when you think of the term?
I got married to Thai women in Thailand in 2005 we have been separated since 2006.?
I want to divorce her for abandonment can I do this in Houston Texas
I don’t know your status really, and I don’t know TX law, but here is my two cents. My girlfriend had a now ex-husband, a Brit. She has dual passport status, U.S.and Thai having been born in Isaan to American/Thai parents. I helped her get a divorce using the court system in Arizona, where I lived at the time. We set up “residency” for her there, bank account, mailing address, etc. long enough for the courts there to recognize her status and permit a divorce.
They were still cool, she got a copy of his passport, their Thai marriage documents, served him with the papers I arranged for her and it was done. She had a lawyer friend do the required notarization of the American documents in Thailand. She won’t file the U.S. paperwork in Thailand until he reaches legit retirement age, as it would affect his immigration status, i.e. they’d likely kick him out, so it was really for her peace of mind. So yes it seems possible, the divorce is legal here and there.
You however, are asking in the wrong place. Read some of the half assed illiterate “answers” on Yahoo to see what I mean. You need to start in TX to see if or how this is possible through their courts. There are a couple of Thai lawyers advising expats on the Pattaya Expat Club Forum, look them up. There is also a U.S.Consulate liason named Gary Jenkins who hangs out there as well. I’m sure they’ve heard this story before and may be able to help. Good luck.
