thai mor lam

Enough has been said by me in previous posts to try and explain what mor lam is, and many websites do a better job of it — even Know Phuket, for example. I particularly like what the Academic Film Archive has done in celebrating and promoting this musical style. And some websites specialize in discussions on mor lam, such as does Morlam Luktung — there are some very good album reviews at that site (see here).
Even CNN GO came out with an article on the music earlier this very year: Mor Lam and Luk Thung: A guide to Bangkok’s Thai folk music scene.
There are too many websites for me to possibly list that allow visitors to locate videos of mor lam being performed — YouTube is fantastic for what they allow members to post, and lots of websites would not likely exist without that wealth of video to link to and offer to their own audiences.
Let’s have a brief look at what others have to say about mor lam:
Morlam is the name of a style of Thai folk music. Though considered traditional, it is still quite popular in the north and northeast (Isan) regions of Thailand. Isan is home of the famous Som Tum spicy papaya salad just to give …
