If you are entirely new to the term luk thung, then you should refer to the Wikipedia entry for a good examination of it.
If you want an ‘in depth’ look at the genre, the most extensive look at it that I have ever come across is Amporn Jirattikorn’s Lukthung: Authenticity and Modernity in Thai Country Music (.pdf format — over 25 pages).
Many sites offer music videos (mostly YouTube embeds), and several sites offer CD, DVD, and VCD albums of this style of music that are generally very inexpensive. Some examples are the UK’s Farside (rather dear prices, but perhaps the albums are rarer?), Germany’s NangThai Video, and eThaiCD.
There is even a Facebook page in homage to it, albeit sadly unpopulated; and a very active Twitter account employing the name.
One blog site I highly recommend does album and video reviews of lukthung and morlam; and I see that the site owner now has a presence on Facebook.
Interestingly, I see that lukthung.com is the alternate URL for the German site thailife.de.
If you are willing to put in some ‘trial and error’ to explore the site, I see that some luk thung artists are available for listening on Last.fm — you only need to use the search box.
