Today’s post title was a complete mystery to me. All I knew was that it was some sort of term used in searches at places like Google. My initial thinking was that it was likely an error, and a leading letter had been omitted — like is sometimes done when someone who is not very brand-name knowledgeable (or else is a tad illiterate) drops the “N” from Nissan because he or she knows no better.
But I came across these two images at PH HardwareZone in a report about an IT Show 2006 held in Singapore — Apple’s iPod was being specifically referred to:
So Isan DS-309 — as illustrated in the first photo — is a speaker system designed for portable media players such as an iPod; and as mentioned in the second photo, it “compromises bass for portability” just as the product being depicted in that photo is supposed to do.
But who is, then, Isan? Or is Isan simply the product name, and not the name of any manufacturer?
Believe me, it took some doing finding out the answer.
The solution led to a business called Pacific City (The IT Electromart), apparently located in Singapore. Note their About us page:
