For a flight of an hour or so, I would stick with half-price Nok Air over Thai Airways International as shown at AsianVenture Tours. But that’s me — you may have heard enough against Nok Air to happily pay that extra fare cost.

You can see what Thai Air Asia charges for yourself — perhaps they can beat Nok.

As far as I understand, these are the only three airlines that fly from Bangkok to Udon Thani — as you can see for yourself on the Udon Thani International Airport‘s Flight Status page.

To be frank, I am weary of playing games with flight search engines like FareCompare and AirNinja. Maybe if I had a genuine flight I needed to make…but just playing this exercise of searching for no other reason than to see the result; and then waiting and waiting while the search engine runs its process; and then having to deal with a number of new pop-up windows for other search engines like Orbit or Expedia that have been used in the search process by the original search engine — it truly gets very, very tiresome.

[Please note that I am doing this edit on January 2, 2011, still very much housebound following the November 1st accident that saw my left leg's quadriceps tendon rip clean off my patella (knee cap). Call me a little cranky today.]

Just keep in mind that any quoted flights are probably bare bones — taxes and surcharges will most likely yet be added.
